IPL Team Preview - 9) Sunrisers Hyderabad

They are the new addition this IPL, the franchise who has taken over Deccan Chargers. Most of line up is inherited from the Chargers. DC despite being one time champtions have had a forgettable time at IPL otherwise.  With probably being the least resourceful team, if they play as a unit where they feel they have nothing to lose, they could be a force and could affect the progress of other teams during the business end of the tournament.

The Indian Talent – Very Very Scarce
SH can literally count their local impact players. They have the inform S Dhawan, Ishant Sharma, A Mishra & P Patel. Infact, its sad to see some of sidelined players of other franchises like MI &CSK would easily make the XI of SH.

The Overseas Talent – Dependant on a few
Kumar Sangakarra is one player they are heavily dependant on. He hasn’t performed to his reputation this far. He would have to lead from the front if his team is to leave any impression this season. D Steyn is another impact player who they heavily rely on. He is expected to spearhead their attack . C White & JP Duminy comprise healthy middle order options. The addition of useful allrounders like T Perera, D Sammy & N McCullum gives some balance to their side.  Unfortunately, only 4 can be picked up.

Injury Concerns & The Srilankan Impact – S Dhawan is ruled out for 6-8 weeks, this is a big blow to them considering their scarce available resources. JP Duminy in all likelihood is ruled out of IPL. They would miss the services of their captain & the allrounder abilities of Perera at Chennai.

Likely XI – 1) P Patel,  2) S Dhawan, 3) K Sangakarra, 4) C White, 5) H Vihari / A Reddy, 6) D Ravi Teja / K Sharma, 7) T Perera / D Sammy / N Mc Cullum, 8) A Mishra, 9) D Steyn, 10) I Sharma, 11) S Tyagi / VP Singh
